Tenth Earth National Fair in Esteli

The surroundings streets of the central park of Estelí will be the headquarters of the Tenth National Earth Fair. The slogan of this edition, which will be held on June 4th and 5th, is "Water, forests, humanity...solidarity with the planet!" and will include expositions by national institutions and NGOs on climate change environmental protection. In addition, visitors will be able to enjoy traditional dishes and buy handicrafts from Northern Nicaragua.
According to the website of the fair, its main goal is to promote a change of mind in the Nicaraguan society, a change that generates ecological commitments through education, dialogue and the management of environmental conservation. National media reported that, in order to accomplish this goal, the organizing committee held a series of activities and conferences on the campus of the Multidisciplinary Regional School UNAN-Estelí, whose theme focused on the causes of global warming and its consequences. In addition, other private higher education institutions have also supported the initiative.
The program of activities will start at 7:00 am, with a march that will depart from the Nuetra Señora del Rosario School and will end at the central park of Esteli. The opening ceremony will be held from 9:30 pm to 12:30 pm. After that, there will be cultural performances, as well as an ecological concert by the symphonic municipal band of Esteli, a theater presentation, an awards ceremony, and an ecological concert by the national singer Katia Cardenal and other Nicaraguan artists.
On the next day, the activities will continue with another performance by the symphonic municipal band and the groups "El Guayabal" and "Nueva Luz", followed by a cultural performances and the closing ceremony, which will include a concert by the Nicaraguan singer Norma Elena Gadea and other artists. Moreover, attendees will be able to enjoy a public party and the music by groups like Clave de Sol, Remembranza, ZM y Ayote en Miel.
The expositions about climate change, which are organized by national institutions and NGOs, in addition to the craft and local food sales, will be held simultaneously with the cultural presentations. All the stands will be located around the central park of the city.
