Second National Theater Festival 2012

One complete week of presentations will have the Festival in the National Theater.
The Nicaraguan theater people will capture in a whole week the National Theater Rubén Darío spaces, with the Second National Theater Festival that will take place from Wednesday, 14 March to Wednesday, 21 March. This organized cultural proposal will offer to the audience the presentation of 12 different plays performed by an artist selection and groups from all over the country.
During the press conference given today in Managua, the actor Salvador Espinoza, president of the Professional of Theater Network - which organized the event-, explained that this initiative search for revitalize the theater made in Nicaragua, including the artistic quality. They want to regained the theater lovers and make the tradition grow. For this, the network's directive chose emblematic scenes with trajectory for the festival dates.
The presentations will take place in three scenarios of the National Theater. All the week, at 7:30 PM, there will be one different presentation in the Pilar Aguirre Experimental Salon (C$100). On the other hand, from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18, there will be theatrical presentations for children in the Blue Amphitheater (C$50). Also, in the Major Salon is going to be presented plays from the actor César Meléndez- "El Nica" y "Flora", on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 at 7:30 PM.
Parallel activities and trajectory
As part of the Festival there will be two parallel activities. The first one is a photography, posters and theatrical costumes expositions presented in the theater lobby and experimental salon. The second one are two interesting workshops, one of floor acrobatics and the other of netting acrobatics, which are going to be taught to all the interested in theatrical art and members of the network from March 12 to 15, at 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In 2010 was made the first National Theater Festival. Salvador Espinoza detailed that this initiative was being created since many years ago result of the theatrical project Carromato and the creation of the Professional of Theater Network in 2005. In 2012, the organizers want to match the festival with the World Theater Day, celebrated on March 27.
This year's event is the product of a joint effort in which are involved the Nicaraguan Cultural Fund and the National Theater Rubén Darío, as well as the theater association with the financial support of the Switzerland Cooperation, the Norway Cooperation and the National Congress. Cairo Amador, Nicaraguan Cultural Fund director, mentioned that they hope to achieve in the future the inclusion of many plays in other regions of the country.
