Outstanding musicians of Europe, North America and Nicaragua are going to share stage in three different cities of the country.

International quality concerts in Matagalpa, León and Managua are going to be the artistic offer that the Jazz&Art Festival -Fifht International Jazz Festival of Nicaragua- brings this year and will take place from March 14 to March 17. Many musicians and bands of Italy, Germany, France, Spain, United States and Nicaragua will be participating.

The Nicaraguan musician Ramaí Das, event's main organizer, explained today during the press conference that the initiative began a few years back with the objectiv to promote the jazz to the national public and try to increase the quality level of the newer talents in the country, through the exchange with international prominent musicians.

This fifth festival contemplates two preliminary payed concerts, three official concerts with no cost and four musical clinics – workshops- for interested musicians, also free. One of the preliminary concerts took place last Saturday, March 10; the next concert will be on Wednesday, March 14, at the National Thater Rubén Darío in the Crystal Room (7:00 PM, C$80 córdobas).

The Festival has been able to be well – positioned at the international sphere under the name “Nicaragua International Jazz Festival”, said Ramaí Das, who also assured that every year are more and more bands interested in participate. As well, the artist pointed out that is easier to appreciate the results of the annual event, because there are newer bands and musicians that participate for Nicaragua. The last year, the recognised french guitarist Eric Löhrer expressed that the quality of the young national musicians is higher than the street musician in Europe, said Ramaí Das.
