The National Film Library (Cinemateca Nacional) pays tribute to important Nicaraguan poets this week by presenting productions (mostly documentaries) from their collection. Most of these movies are only available in this archive and for some it will be the first time to be presented on a big screen, reports Marcio Vargas, director of the Film Library.

The shows will start Wednesday, October 11 and finish on Saturday, October 14. The presentations will start every day at 7 PM and tickets are C$25. The National Film Library is located in the Cultural Center of Managua, in the building of the old Gran Hotel, behind the Palace of Culture.

Poets highlighted during this week include Ernesto Cardenal, Pablo Antonio Cuadra, José Coronel Urtecho, Carlos Martínez Rivas and Rubén Darío. To learn more about the movies, check out our Events Calendar.
