II Kayak and Rowing Challenge Edition Apanas Lake

This April 13 the call is for rowing olympic experts and rowing amateurs on fisherman boat.

The second edition of Kayak Paddles Apanás Challenge, to be held this Sunday, April 13, calls for those who want to be challenged by paddles and those who wish to accompany as viewers at the Sisle boardwalk in Jinotega.

The kayakers have been challenged to row 1 km from Asturias (west end of the lake) to Sisle boardwalk (central northern end of the lake) where olympic experts and fisherman boat rowing enthusiasts will also be measured.

The invitation was made by the ​​president of the Departmental Office of Tourism in Jinotega Elida Jimenez, president of Nicaragua Federation of Paddles Gerardo Alvarez, president of the Association of Tour Operators of Nicaragua Claudia Aguirre and the president of tourist portal Vianica.com Roger Solorzano.

Solórzano recommended to escape the heat of the west of the country and find refuge in the lake, located 900 meters above sea level and 10 degree temperatures lower than Managua.

Jimenez said that hotels in Jinotega are ready to receive tourists, not only due to the challenge but beacuse it is a different way to begin Holy Week vacations participating or watching healthy sports and enjoying nature beauty. Alvarez confirmed that olympic rowing experts will compete in a two kilometers distance, like those in fishing boats. Also Aguirre confirmed that food and beverage companies will be offering their services on the Sisle boardwalk at affordable prices, so that people can enjoy the event free of pressures.

How to get there?

Sisle boardwalk is located 6 km from Sant Gabriel junction on the road to San Rafael del Norte. You make a turn on east, heading to Pantasma and then there is an entrance to the Sisle boardwalk which takes you to the lake shore.
