The participants will leave from the San Jerónimo church and pass the principal streets of Masaya until around 10 PM.

The Baile de las Negras, or 'dance of the black', has an ancient origin and it consists of various dance couple (all male) dressed with colorful, feminine and masculine colonial-style costumes and masks, dancing the marimba and covering almost all of the town. A large group of spectators of friends, family, and other people interested in this event will watch their performance.
