The Baile de las Negras, or 'dance of the black', has an ancient origin and it consists of various dance couple (all male) dressed with colorful, feminine and masculine colonial-style costumes and masks, dancing the marimba and covering almost all of the town. A large group of spectators of friends, family, and other people interested in this event will watch their performance.
The dance takes place at the second-last Sunday of November, and it will be performed this year by the group 'Sones de mi Tierra'. This group has over a decade of artistic experience.
