2015 International Poetry Festival of Granada announced

115 poets from 57 countries confirmed participation to the festival which will be helded February 15-22.

The date is set for the 11th edition of International Poetry Festival of Granada: the third week of February, the days between Sunday 15th and 22nd of the month. The event will pay tribute to the poet, playwright and artist Enrique Fernandez Morales Granada (1918-1982), and with participation of at least 115 poets from all continents. These and more details were officially announced by the organizing committee.

As in every year, the guests list includes highly recognized names in the literary world and in their areas of influence around the world. The 2015 festival will feature authors like Claudia Emerson (USA), Luis Eduardo Aute (Spain), Enrique Noriega (Guatemala), Dorta Jagic (Croatia), and an extensive list.

Organized activities, similar to those of previous years, include:

  • Open poetry recitals in public squares.
  • Concerts in 14 municipalities near Granada.
  • Roundtables for honoree poet.
  • Book Fair.
  • Crafts Fair.
  • Poetic identity carnival, with folk dances and recitals.
  • Musical concerts.

The conference announced as new features: a new honorary president of the festival, Mr. Joseph Adam Aguerri, president of the Superior Council of Private Enterprise (COSEP); posthumous tribute to the Costa Rican poet Eunice Odio (1922-1974).


The organizers said the festival has already gathered 1,600 poets from over 130 countries worldwide as a total return on their past ten editions.

More interesting information about the festival 2015 will be released closer to the date of commencement of this celebration.
