It is not an easy task to describe our Permaculture farm / hostel briefly, it is so much more than just a farm with a never ending variety of elements. So we have decided to outline just a few of the assets which make this place and project so unique. Other than the Hostel, restaurant, pizzeria and our farm products we would like to emphasize the attention that we have put into making the whole area as natural and eco friendly as possible using renewable energy and with a particular regard for a "no waste" policy. The surrounding natural environment with its large variety of plants and animals which you can freely explore and enjoy adds to the riches of our project.

We have various types of hospitality on offer. Private huts, dormitories, camping areas and hammocks are situated in various locations on the farm. Everything has been built or planned to be immersed in the natural environment and to respect it greatly. Our great variety of choices means that our hospitality is accessible to all kinds of people and budgets.

The El Zopilote Farm started as a family business in 2002 when Bruno and his sons Cristiano and Daniele bought the first piece of land which is now part of the Farm.Since then the project has grown rapidly. Over 10.000 plants have been planted, other huts have been built, constructed wetlands to purificate and recycle the waste water have been created, paths and look-out towers have been made. There are now eco friendly compost toilets and bathrooms with a system of natural waste disposal, a yoga platform, ovens made of terracotta bricks and mud for making bread and pizza and solar panels for the production of electrical energy.  Most of the buildings and constructions have been built manually without the aid of machines.

Cristiano and Daniele have diplomas in Permaculture design and the farm and lands are run following these principles.
