Description

Stunning views from the mountains of Jinotega, its pine forests and a variety of agricultural areas are the major attraction of this eco-lodge, which is run by members of the Cooperative La Reforma and residents of the community La Fundadora. Besides the beautiful landscape, visitors can enjoy the peaceful and cool climate from the northern department in Nicaragua.

The construction of this eco lodge was finished recently. It has room for 16 people in one dorm, 10 guests spread in five cabins and 40 people in the dining area - space that can also be used as a meeting room, for trainings or other activities. The eco lodge also offers coffee tour, horseback riding, biking, hike and community visits. Visitors can also take a dip in the waterfall La Mokuana and visit Datanlí - El Diablo Natural Reserve, where you can enjoy the breathtaking waterfall The Bujona.

For tours in the community and its attractions, you have a tour guide trained by La Cuculmeca, an NGO that works towards sustainable management of the environment. With them, tourists may visit neighboring communities, agricultural areas, waterfall La Mokuana and Natural Reserve Dantalí- El Diablo.

Directions

The community is located on the side of the Datanlí Natural Reserve - El Diablo. You can get there by taking the Matagalpa-Jinotega road, by two access points: 1. At km 144, you will reach the junction La Fundadora, where you turn and continues for 6 kilometers 2. At km 146 you get to junction Las Latas, where you turn and continue for 3 kilometers to the lodge.

There is also the possibility of public transportation, that you can take at the Guanuca Market bus terminal in Matagalpa. The bus to "Las Nubes" leaves at 1 PM and 2 PM. To arrive and leave by bus the same day is not possible.
