Santa Lucía

The center of this municipality is the picturesque, peaceful town of Santa Lucía, which is surrounded by mountains and rock formations. The most impressive of all is Santo Domingo, with its windmill that can be seen in the distance. Two other interesting sites are the Cuevas de la Cocinera (caves) and the Salto de las Américas pond. Handicrafts made of Henequen are also an interesting product of this area.

Getting There

Santa Lucía is located 10 kilometers away from Boaco. While driving in the Managua - El Rama highway, take the secondary road heading to Boaco. After a couple of minutes, you will see a dirt road to the town of Santa Lucía (North). There are buses with connecting routes to Boaco and Managua (El Mayoreo bus station).
