Villanueva

The town of Villanueva is the center of this municipality. The territory is divided in two areas: low lands to the West and high hills to the East. There are several rivers in Villanueva, some of them are hot springs. The traditional festivities are held in honor of the 'Señor de Esquipulas' on Junuary 10th.

Getting There

The urban center of Villanueva by a three kilometer road with the highway that connects the city of Chinandega with the customs post of El Guasaule. Chinandega is 101 kilometers away from this town, and Managua is 186 kilometers. In Villanueva you will find buses heading to Somotillo, Chinandega and El Sauce (León).
