Located on a plateau near the Mombacho Volcano, Diriomo is part of the "Bewitched Villages". The religious fervor of its inhabitants changes the calm ambiance of the urban center and 25 rural communities. These festivities are held each February 2nd in honor of the 'Virgen de La Candelaria', with traditional dances, processions and sweets.

Getting There

Diriomo is located 48 kilometers from Managua. In order to get here, you should take a bus heading to Rivas, which leaves from the Roberto Huembes Market. Tell the bus driver to drop you off at the entrance to the municipality.

When traveling on private transportation, you should take the 'Carretera a Masaya'. After reaching the 'Las Flores' roundabout, turn right and pass the towns of Catarina and San Juan de Oriente. You will see the entrance to the municipality on the right.

There are buses to Managua, Masaya, Granada and Niquinohomo in Diriomo.
