San Jorge

Despite being the smallest municipality in the department of Rivas, San Jorge has an strategic element: a port that connects it with Ometepe island. La Merced church, one of the oldest buildings in Nicaragua, is located in its urban area, as well as the monument 'La Cruz de España'. Its rural area, constituted by four villages, work in livestock and agriculture.

Getting There

San Jorge is located 115 kilometers from the city of Managua. To get here, you have to take a bus at the Roberto Huembes Market, traveling to Rivas. Once you are in the city, take a cab or walk to this municipality.

On private transportation, take the Pan American Highway heading South (Rivas). When you reach this last city, turn left. The entrance is a few meters away from the Riva's roundabout.
