  • Horseback riding to Leon Viejo and Puerto Momotombo

    Description

    The meeting point takes place at Finca El Carmen, an accessible entrance along the road to Momotombo. There the host will be waiting with a horse for each participant. You will be riding a horse in rural area where food crops plantations can be seen, reaching the streets of León Viejo or Puerto Momotombo.

    The first point to visit after 40 minutes of horseback riding are the ruins of León Viejo, an ancient city founded in the seventeenth century by conqueros that came from Spain, and was buried a few years later by a volcano eruption. A one hour walking tour through the ruins (admission included in the tour price) is made.

    Then there is a horseback riding to the small boardwalk in Puerto Momotombo, where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of Momotombo Volcano and Momotombito and Managua Lake. After this you will return the horses to Finca El Carmen, where the tour finish.

    Note:
    Food service is available upon request and is an extra service.

    Recommendation:
    You should bring sunscreen, water, insect repellent and comfortable clothing for riding.
