Description

Cacao has a rich history in Central America. During this tour you will learn about the evolution of cacao in the history and culture of Nicaragua. Additionally, you will learn about the arrival of coffee and its economic and social impact and how to make handmade chocolates. Besides all of this, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Visit a chocolate factory where we can see the artisanal manufacturing process of making chocolate and taste the delicious final product with a cup of coffee. Subsequently, we will visit a rural community where people grow coffee and cacao in a diversified and sustainable manner. In this community we will walk through the plantations and participate in the workshop "The Creation of Pinolillo", a traditional drink made from corn, cocoa and spices. This process will be taught by a local family, with whom we will also share a typical lunch.

Before going back to the city we will visit a watefall, where you can swim and enjoy the natural beauty of the place.

The tour ends in Matagalpa while enjoying a great cup of Mocha coffee in one of the best coffee shops in Nicaragua.
