Description
The National Arboretum is a small natural sanctuary where 212 tree, bushes and smaller plants from the four regions of Nicaragua. It was created on 1991 by one of the most dedicated scientists of the country: Juan Bautista Salas.
Nowadays, the Arboretum is administrated by the National Forestry Institute (INAFOR) and its main goal is to provide information about the national flora and the proper ways of protection and conservation.
Visitors of the place, who are mainly students, get environmental talks, scientific advice, technical consultations and taxonomic advice to identify orders, genders, families and forest species of different use: medicine, ornamental, industrial, etc. All the information is given by specialists who work at the Arboretum.
Its location, which is in the heart of Managua, makes it a very accessible site. It is situated 1 1/2 kilometers South of the old center of the city, and less than a kilometer North from the Tiscapa Park, which makes it easy to combine with a visit to other interesting places of the area.
Opening hours: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The general entrance fee is C$5.

No he podido encontrar como comunicarme con el arboreto. Un telefono que nunca contestan 2222-2558 y no aparece un correo donde se pueda mandar algun plan de visita.

Es un lugar muy bonito, con una muy diversa flora y ademas lo hace mas bonito y atractivo el lugar la atención brindada que va de la mano con la calidez.
