Description
Howler monkeys are fairly large, black monkeys. Their loud howls can be heard from far. Howler monkeys often live in groups, which can be as big as 50 individuals.
Habitat
Howler monkeys can be found throughout Nicaragua, both at the Caribbean and the Pacific side of the country. Dense forest and high trees are preferred habitats. Many of the reserves house howler monkeys. Ometepe Island has one of the largest howler monkey populations.
