18th International Theater Festival begins

From July 24th to the 31th you can enjoy theatrical performances at the Justo Rufino Garay Theater.
Justo Rufino Garay Theater presents the XVIII Festival Internacional de Teatro. Monólogos, Diálogos y Más… Nicaragua 2015 from July 24th to the 31th, where plays, individual shows, talks, workshops, meetings, storytelling, concerts and a painting exhibition will be presented.
This edition will have the participation of: Nicaragua, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, United States and Spain.
The festival will give a tribute to duo Guardabarranco, composed by Salvador Cardenal (InMemoriam) and Katia Cardenal, one of the most important duos of our country that with its deep lyrics sung to nature, love and different life topics, have made a valuable contribution to music and Nicaraguan culture.
The International Theater Festival was founded 20 years ago, but this is its 18th due to the team of Justo Rufino Garay Theater decided to make it biennial (rather than annual) three years ago, since achieving economic funds required annually was almost impossible, according to Lucero Millan, director of this theater.
However, "we have not broken any edition (of the festival)", said Millan, who is proud that it has been able to once again make an edition of the event. This was possible thanks to the efforts of the entire team of Justo Rufino Garay Theater and sponsors, because this is a festival that has no support from the state, according to Millan.
On the other hand, the theater celebrates the premier of Lucero Millan's play, called La Ciudad Vacia, performed by Rene Medina, Jhosay Peralta and its own author. Read more about this play here, which will be presented the day the festival begins.
